PROTO 37 Aluminum from the Pouvreau shipyard, designed by Gilles Vaton in 1980. French flag, Spanish registration tax, and VAT paid. Ready to sail, 2 cabins + Breton bed + 1 toilet. New transmission. The Pouvreau shipyard, founded in 1894 by Fabien Pouvreau in Vix, Vendée, is renowned for producing high-quality aluminum sailboats. In the 1970s and 1980s, it collaborated with renowned naval architects, including Gilles Vaton, to design high-performance sailboats for offshore racing. Among the notable models resulting from this collaboration is the Sillage 37, an aluminum sailboat measuring 11.3 meters in length, designed by Gilles Vaton and built in a limited series of approximately 25 units, with the Proto 37 as the initial inspiration. This model is often considered the “big brother” of the Romanée, another successful design by Pouvreau created by Philippe Harlé. These collaborations between the Pouvreau shipyard and Gilles Vaton have left a mark on the history of French shipbuilding, producing sailboats that combine performance, robustness, and elegance, still appreciated by sailing enthusiasts. Visits possible every day by appointment.
